Get up

I was reading Matthew 9 and noticed something.

Jesus healed a paralysed man (v 1-8): "and the man got up and went home."
A little later he took the hand of a dead girl (v 18-19, 23-25): "and she got up."
In between these two incidents, he called Matthew to follow him (v9): "and Matthew got up and followed him."

Matthew was a tax-collector, and therefore a "sinner" (v10-13). But Jesus did not heal the healthy, but the sick: nor restore the righteous to his service - but the unrighteous. There is hope for us all. Perhaps we feel that our "obedience muscle" is atrophied or that our faith has died. Yet at Jesus' command we can get up and follow him.
